COAC Multi-tiered Membership

Commencing September, 2009, COAC introduced a two-tiered membership model for full or associate membership.

COAC Full Membership

• Annual fee is $0.35 per FTE based on the previous year’s grades 1-12 student population.
• Mandatory participation on the management committee to establish the COAC vision and service areas and determine the priorities for licensing and acquisitions.
• Mandatory participation in a 2 day regional evaluation event.

  • Members with a student population of 10,000 or less, must provide a minimum of two evaluators.

  • Members with student populations over 10,000 must provide a minimum of 1 additional evaluator for every 10,000 FTEs.
    

• Includes one complimentary master copy of all DVDs licensed by COAC on an annual basis.
• Includes the right to duplicate and distribute these DVDs within the jurisdiction.
• Includes access to the annual COAC Bulk Dub Ordering Period (restricted to COAC Members).
• For a limited period COAC members can order newly licensed COAC and Alberta Education video programs from the Learning Resources Centre (LRC) http://www.lrc.education.gov.ab.ca/ at a discount of 50% – 85% from the regular LRC selling price.
• Includes unlimited access to COAC’s streamed videos on the COAC website located at https://coac.learnalberta.ca

COAC Associate Membership - School Jurisdiction and Independent Schools

NOTE:  Associate membership is only available at a jurisdictional level and the option to join will not be available to individual schools that are part of that jurisdiction. Exceptions will be made for:

1. Individual schools that participate as full members under the umbrella of a regional resource center.
2. Situations where certain schools in a jurisdiction are members of a regional centre and the remaining schools join as associate members provided that all schools in that jurisdiction in one way or another are members.

• Annual fee is $1.00 per FTE based on the previous year’s grades 1-12 student population.
• Unlike Full Membership, Associate Membership does not include one complimentary master copy of all DVDs licensed by COAC on an annual basis or the right to duplicate and distribute these DVDs within the jurisdiction.
• Includes access to the annual COAC Bulk Dub Ordering Period (restricted to COAC Members).
  • For a limited period COAC members can order newly licensed COAC and Alberta Education video programs  at a discount of 50% – 85% from the regular LRC selling price.
• Includes unlimited access to COAC’s streamed videos on the COAC website located at https://coac.learnalberta.ca

COAC Associate Membership - Post Secondary Institutions

NOTE:  Post secondary institutions with teacher programs may become associate members

• Annual fixed fee is $3,000.
• Unlike Full Membership, Associate Membership does not include one complimentary master copy of all DVDs licensed by COAC on an annual basis or the right to duplicate and distribute these DVDs within the institution.
• Includes access to the annual COAC Bulk Dub Ordering Period (restricted to COAC Members).
  • For a limited period COAC members can order newly licensed COAC and Alberta Education video programs at a discount of 50% – 85% from the regular LRC selling price.
• Includes unlimited access to COAC’s streamed videos on the COAC website located at https://coac.learnalberta.ca/
